On Saturday, the International Program headed to Tenby, which is a medieval town that still retains its walls constructed in the Middle Ages. It's interesting to see the Floridian style pastel homes walled with medieval stone--but there you have it.

Obviously, we're both excited about Tenby, and pretty much insane. From left to right, that's Mareike, Peri, Maria, Martina, and Tatiana.

This was NOT a convent. It was a very expensive teashop. Hrm.

The five arches, leading into town--part of the old fortress.

The entrance to the shops from the five arches--and Martina, looking lovely.

This used to be the entryway to the City Gaol--nice cultural reappropriation. I like to see a healthy respect for the Law.

The Church, obviously.

There was this really cool castle-y type fortress built up on the cliffs of the beach. Gorgeous, but we couldn't get any closer--private property. Which leads me to ask--Mom, Dad, why didn't we live in a castle?

A closer view...

This is a pretty cool example of the modern seaside town blending in (or not) with the remains of the fortress.

Same thing, really.
