Dinefwr Castle Trip

The day after my birthday, we took a trip to the Newton house, which is an Edwardian manor built down the hill from the ancient Dinefwr Castles. Highlights included eating cold pizza in front of the herd of deer that grazes just outside (literally) the manor, and an interesting, possibly metaphorical lack of the legendary White Cattle. The White Cattle are said to symbolize the power of the Welsh princes, and there were signs for them everywhere. Yet, even upon a thorough exploration of the grounds, no dice. :(

Some friends outside Dinfwr Castle, which is in the Tywi Valley. Please notice how adventurous I look.

The ruins...

This horse was super friendly! I wanted to take it home, but alas, Griff was displeased with the idea of having it on the bus.
